Summary of Application Experience
So I just noticed that there is a minor grammatical error in one of my Work experiences on the AMCAS... nothing I can do about it, but it still really bugs me. The best part is that I had initially corrected that typo, but them forgot to save the Word file that I had made the changes in, so when I copy and pasted everything over, the error remained. Thankfully everything else is polished, but the error just had to be in the research description... C'est la vie.
This whole process is ridiculous. Some of these rejections I've received make no sense what-so-ever...
I'm eagerly awaiting the response from Mayo with my fingers crossed; that school is absolutely amazing! 3 Seats remaining... will I be one of them? Oh the suspense. Every day that passes without any good news feels like a failure.
3/6/07 -- On Hold at Mayo. Reapplication is becoming a reality at the moment.
3/16/07 -- Rejected by Mayo, Dartmouth, and USC. Woo.
Syracuse is pretty cool, I just hope if I go there I won't get cabin fever and wind up like Jack Nicholson in 'The Shining'.
3/7/06 - First Acceptance - UofA
So initially I was kinda bummed that this acceptance came inbetween a whole slew of post-secondary rejections from schools that I dreamed of going to, and went on a rant complaining about 'the system' and 'the process', and said I'd keep it up here. Apparently that's considered to be ill-mannered, so I removed it.
I'm also very upset with my advisors and fellow premeds... what should have been terrific news was initially upsetting to me because of how over-hyped getting into a 'top' school becomes. Everyone makes it seem as if anyone who gets into a 'top' school is great, and everyone who doesn't is just 'meh' at best. Can't wait to do this all over with ERAS in four years... blech
