Summary of Application Experience
I started this profile in order organize my application. I anticipate it will be a long road trying to out run the dismal GPA. I will try to update this profile periodically.
6/30 Game is afoot. Starting to send out the secondaries and spending money like water. All for the priviledge of receiving a bunch of thin envelopes.
7/11 Least favorite secondary topic: What makes you unique?
7/14 Wow, first interview with Ohio State on 9/11. Funny thing is that on the status page it says the recommendation letters hasn't been received yet.
9/16 Finished two interviews: OSU and VCU. I am not sure how I did in either one.
9/30 Got the invite to Toledo today. Also discovered a huge blunder. Reviewing my Toledo secondary essays, I found that I had put down 'Loyola Stricth' instead of 'Toledo.'
Can there be a greater faux pas? But I guess the Toledo folks are pretty understanding and realize many schools have similar questions.
10/4 First Rejection, Boston U.
10/16 First Acceptance: Ohio State! Clicking on the email message and seeing the word 'Congratulations!' was a moment of pure happiness.
10/18 Withdrawing from:
Drexel NYMC Rosalind Franklin Robert Wood Johnson Tulane
I am not particularly interested in these schools. If my withdrawing free up a interview spot for other people, that's even better.
10/22 Called Loyola and found out that they will 'reconsider my application' in Janurary, 2007. This probably means at best I could get a interview for a waitlist spot. Kinda disappointed because I put in a lot of work into that secondary and am interested in the school.
10/27 Wow, a interview at University of Cincinnati. For some reason the Ohio public schools really love me (an Oregon resident who didn't mention anything about Ohio in the application). And they all had pretty fast turn around for my application.
10/30 Invite from OHSU, one of my top choice.
11/14 Canceled Cincinnati interview. Already way over budget for travel expenses.
11/15 Waitlisted at Pitt, Damn!
12/11 The love affair with Ohio continues: acceptance from Toledo received via snail mail today.
1/09 Interview from Vermont. Not sure if I will go, especially since it will be in late March and close to exam date. OHSU put me on hold, as expected.
2/18/07 Well, I think my interview season is done. Things went better than I expected. Now I wished I stopped being lazy and filled out those other secondary essays.
5/8/07 Withdrew from Toledo, now it's between Pitt, OHSU and OSU.
Applied, Withdrew
