Summary of Application Experience

To date: Was granted phone interview at Mayo 10/4, rejection letter today. Sad, but I guess it gives me hope I'll get more interviews. CU interview was fun and laid back, but they don't send out many letters (rejection or acceptance) until everyone has been interviewed. Usually about March. The waiting is killing me. I am really looking forward to the Albany interview on 12/01. I have a good feeling about that place. I really like their info and I kind of miss the cold weater (I grew up in ND). Wish me luck!

11/06/05: On Friday I received my invite to interview at Case Western. I really needed a lift and it worked! I will schedule it tomorrow.

11/09/05: Scheduled interview at Case for 12/19. I am so excited about that place! It's a great school. Takes the edge off the rejection from Mayo...a little.

12/04/05: Albany interview went well. I really loved that place. I should hear within about 2 weeks. I'll be on pins and needles until then. I was pretty impressed with the student body there. The day before I left for the interview I was invited to interview at U of M Twin cities. I'm pretty pumped about that one too. Great school and I love the city!

12/07/05: I got in to Albany!!! I'm am so excited about this! I loved the school and I know I would be so happy here. Still need to here from CU to decide what to do, but what a great day!

02/01/06: Well, getting into Case was great, but I don't know if Ill lreally be able to afford it since I'm not qualified for merit based aid. I'm also not really excited about having to provide my parents' income info since they are absolutely not willing to help fund this adventure. Case would like to pretend that parents always want to help! I am sad that I was waitlisted at U of M becuase I would like to move a bit closer to home. Just holding out now to hear from Colorado. At least February is a short month!

03/09/06: The rejection letter from U of M took me by surprise, not because I really expected to get in, but because I didn't expect to hear much of anything until May. I think I would have preferred that. Now I have this 'state schools don't like me' complex. It's not a good thing since I'm waiting to hear from CU. Getting into CU would sure save me some stress. Thanks to gdbaby I am now anxiously awaiting March 20-21 so that I can start planning the rest of my life. (I really do appreciate having a date rather than some nebulous period encompassing all of March) I still plan on going to the second look weekend for Case though. My boss keeps telling me I should go there since it is a good school. There's a part of me that agrees. But we'll see. It'll just be nice to be able to visit a school and not feel so stressed that I can't really pick up on the vibe there. Plus on my interview day, the students were all on break, so it will be nice to pick up on the atmosphere with students there. Oh well, back to waiting!
