27 September 2006 - (8:30AM) UAB's INTERVIEW INVITE ARRIVED! YES! FINALLY! WOHOOO!! I'm interviewing at UAB on the 5th of October!

10 October 2006 - Well, let me report on the interviews. First off, UAB rocks! Yes, the admissions people placed their school in the best possible light. From the moment I stopped by the day before to ask for questions and to roam the school unguided, they never hesitated to be friendly and helpful. The medical students (M2s) had a huge test on Thursday, so mentioning that they were stressed doesn't mean that much. The rest of the medical students were happy, cheerful, and willing to answer questions. The admissions staff made the interview day one of the best interview days of my life. What little stress and anxiety I had before the interviews left during a group discussion with Dr. Smith. All three of the interviewers helped guide the interview into a conversation format. I await for the day the letter arrives.

On the other hand, MCW's interview process can only be described as the opposite of UAB's interview. I could ramble on and on for pages, but I don't feel the need to bring up interviews and discussions about a school that needs some help in the PR department. I'm glad that my first encounter with the medical field was not based on my interviewers. Enough said. UAB ROCKS!

    13 October 2006 - Stanford rejected me.
18 October 2006 - What a day! Two rejections! MCW rejected me. VCU rejected me. That's a few. Ah, I'm just keeping the faith for tomorrow!
    19-31 October 2006 - No change.
    01-15 November 2006 - No change.

17 November 2006 - There was a big change today.

    I WAS ACCEPTED TO UAB!

It is done. I have been accepted, and I can care less about the other schools where I applied.

YES! November 17, 2006, a Friday, is one of the most memorable days in my life!

24 January 2007 - UAB is still deciding on campus assignments. It is great knowing I am accepted, but I would love to have the paper letter in my hands. =)

08 February 2007 - UASOM assigned me to the Huntsville campus. I believe I will be happy in H'ville!

I am done with the entire process as of 2/17/07.

I matriculated to UASOM on 5/17/07.

Now it is time to enjoy the ride!
