Summary of Application Experience
Throw the dice and you may be rewarded! Also, apply early...I applied pretty late in the cycle (complete most places around nov/dec) and felt I may have been able to get more interviews/do a little better if I had applied earlier, say, in June.
Also, get used to waiting. Make your parents get used to waiting. During MOST parts of the application process, you are waiting for the next (hopefully positive) answer. Calling to show your interest can have help your cause but this is normally POST-interview when you might be on a waitlist.
The whole thing is random, honestly. Best of luck everyone!
