Summary of Application Experience
You've heard it a million times, but apply early. Beyond that, be patient, it is a marathon event, not a sprint. For older applicants, don't lose touch with the school that granted your degree, and use the resources they offer. At minimum, it is an invaluable resource for co-ordinating recommendations. For older applicants who have been in the workforce, demonstrate ability in what you do now and continue educating yourself. You should have two huge advantages over the younger applicants, maturity and experience in the real world.
