9/28-10/8 received secondaries from UMDNJ, LECOM and PCOM. on hold for UNCEOM until MCAT scores come out(need 18M) at least.NYCOM hold
10/14 I waited to send out secondaries until after I got my August 2005 MCAT score. That 32M hopefully makes me more competitive at DO schools. Secondaries should all go out in the next few days as I pulled the secondaries from SDN and worked on them for a couple weeks.
10/17 sent secondaries to UMDNJ, LECOM, and PCOM. Waiting for UNECOM to allow me to fill their online secondary. NYCOM only mails secondaries to those being interviewd. Heard interviews are being sent out by NYCOM 11/1/2005 or so.
10/25 UMDNJ received my LORs, MCAT, and secondary. I was told I am complete and should hear something in the next few weeks. UNECOM said that my LORs and MCAT scores are in. Hope to get invitation to fill out online UNECOM secondary this week.
11/1 filled out secondary and other documents and received an email notifying I'm complete at UNECOM.
November 2005 received interview invites for UMDNJ,UNECOM, and PCOM. Interviewed at UNECOM and UMDNJ-SOM this month as well.Went to NYCOM Open House. PCOM interview scheduled for January 2006.
12/12 Last week I was accepted by UNECOM. UMDNJ should have an answer around 12/20. Today I received interview invites from NYCOM(secondary comes with application) and LECOM-Erie. So 5 interviews for 5 applications makes me happy. Hopefully they all turn into acceptances and then I make my decision. I'm very lucky to have things moving along so quickly after having received my MCAT scores in October and being complete at all schools late October. In mid-March I should know where I'm going to medical school!!
I seem to be getting early interviews from the August MCAT bunch. Some things(as an August MCAT taker) that may have helped speed things along: doing well on the MCAT, having LORs and primaries received by med schools about 3 weeks before the MCAT scores came out, and having secondaries prepared before I recevied them.
12/20/05 received a call stating I have been accepted to UMDNJ. Very exciting to be sitting on 2 acceptances before the end of the year. I called LECOM to decline my interview. Still planning on going to NYCOM and possibly PCOM interviews. Being very organized and lucky helped make this process stress free so far.
1/4/06 Had my NYCOM interview today and it was my best so far. I'm much more prepared for interview questions at this point. Over the holidays I decided to decline my UNCEOM acceptance and also decline my interview at PCOM. NYCOM and UMDNJ are my number 1 and number 2 choice.Hopefully making these decisions early makes another applicant's life a little easier. Hopefully my interview cycle ends before March.
got a B in pchem. Whew! I thought I bombed the final and would get a D and risk my interview season and graduation date. All my other classes should be easy from here on out. :)
1/28/06 - So I got the NYCOM acceptance letter in the mail today. After dropping 2 interview and one acceptance I only have acceptances at NYCOM and UMDNJ which are my top 2 choices by far.
My interview season is over. I could not have expected this process to run any smoother with being an August MCATer. My next and final update will be when I make a decision on which school to go to.
Have an easy Spring semester and will be sure not to slack off. I don't want the scare I had this winter with my Pchem class. That is so not cool!
