Summary of Application Experience
I felt that it was a real crapshoot. I was rejected from schools that are considered to be ranked below where I ultimately matriculated. Applying late and taking the August MCAT were HUGE disadvantages. Interviewing for me is a strength and every school minus one where I interviewed I was accepted or waitlisted. I truly believe that I ended up at the number one school for me. Though the process felt random at times it was enjoyable overall. I found out a lot about myself when filling out the countless forms and essays. If you can't answer the questions well, this might not be the time in your life to apply. Generally speaking, there really isn't any rush and taking an extra year to get more experience is definitely worth it. My upper division science GPA (3.7) outweighed my relatively low BCPM GPA. My GPA trend was upward.
