Application Cycle One: 2005
Undergraduate college: University of Pennsylvania
Undergraduate Area of study: Biological/Life Sciences
07/11/05: First secondary - from George Washington 07/20/05: First secondary from a screening school! (Iowa)
08/23/05: UCSD finally got around to offering me a secondary - these UC's are really going to make me work!
10/06/05: Secondary invite from Davis.
10/14/05: Rejected via snail mail from Vanderbilt.
12/03/05: After almost 2 months of silence... rejected via snail mail from GW.
Whole slew of rejections in January and February. The California ones really hurt.
02/07/06: First Interview Invite! (Wake Forest) I guess I've really gotta perform since it might be my only shot! 16 schools left...
03/06/06: Interview at Wake went pretty well. One interview didn't jive, but the other two were pretty solid. I like the school, but hate the 'city' - so dead. However, I would still love love love the chance to go! I'll hear March 20th... probably my only hope this cycle!!
03/20/06: Waitlisted at Wake. Sent what is hopefully a strong letter of interest. Now all I can do is what you're supposed to do on a waitlist... wait.
04/19/06: Yup, you counted right. It is the end of April and 8 schools still haven't said a word to me in months. Not cool. Not cool. Of course, now I realize that means a rejection, but for the past few weeks/months, I thought I might have a good chance at a late interview at at least one of them!!
Still waiting for Wake...
07/05/06: ACCEPTED TO WAKE FOREST!! Only 2.5 weeks before orientation. What a freakin DREAM come true. I don't know if I'll ever believe it until I put on that white coat :)
