'Hurry up and wait' seems to be the theme for applying to medical schools. I'm finding that the key is patience, and getting your LOR's sent in EARLY. Professors always seem to be going on vacation or something right when you need them to write you one. I am retaking the MCAT this August ('05), hoping for somewhere close to 30. Last year, I applied really late (secondaries done in December!) and so this year I'm on a mission to get it done EARLY! I will have all secondaries done by the beginning of August, right at the time when schools start scheduling interviews (most start in September). Keeping my fingers crossed. 8/23 First interview, via email today! I hope that it is one of many to come, so that I can have my choice in the end. 11/18/05 Got email acceptance from Touro-MI! Not thrilled about the cost of living, but the campus is fantastic and so are the rotation/residency prospects. Now I just have to scrape together 2,000 for the deposit. Ugh.
