Summary of Application Experience
9/15 - So right now I'm waiting with bated breath to see how schools take my, er, unusual profile. Seems like a mixed bag so far: Pittsburgh liked me enough to give me one of their 100ish pre-secondary automatic interview invites, while Vanderbilt rejected me outright. Given that those schools are equally ranked, I don't know what's going on. Different emphases, I guess.
10/13 - I was really impressed with Kentucky, which has a lot of emphasis on patients and students. Louisville has really nice clinical opportunities and a great patient-simulator facility, but the buildings are sort of old and I didn't feel I got along as well with the students. I don't know if I'm going to go to the Saint Louis U interview or not. I mostly applied there in case I didn't get in in-state, since it's terribly expensive and I don't think it would offer me any unique opportunities.
10/15 - aah! I got in to Kentucky! I'm going to be a doctor!!
10/26 - I was totally impressed with Pittsburgh, which has great students, great faculty, and an amazing simulation lab. I'm so frustrated I won't find out until early March whether I got in.
11/13 - Well, since I'm interviewing at Wake, I'm really only waiting on Emory and Wash U. This could take a while....
