Summary of Application Experience
Still early...a little late on my AMCAS, but I had to get some money!! I'm hoping to get allo secondaries in and completed by October. AACOMAS already finished. Mostly finishing secondaries and waiting to hear. First interview at Western COMP..it's exciting to start the process. I just hope for lots of good luck!!
9/24/04 Ok, so AMCAS is complete as of last week, and except for MCO, I had all the MD school secondaries done a couple weeks ago. Letters are all out as of last week. I'm really hoping to hear from the OH in-states soon and NYCOM (in Octoberish) about an interview.(Cross-fingers!!)
10/08/04 A good week for me - 2 interviews. UMDNJ-SOM 10/27/04 and LECOM Bradenton 10/28/04. That's three interviews in a row. Talk about an expensive cross-country trip, but maybe an acceptance will come out of it. I hope.
11/21/04 I attended interviews at Western-COMP, UMDNJ-SOM, LECOM-B, and U.Cincinnati. Accepted to Western, LECOM, and U.Cincinnati. No word from UMDNJ. I have decided to decline LECOM and Western for Cincinnati and probably will matriculate there. I like UMDNJ very much as well, but I'm really thinking it's going to be Cinci.
Final Comments: I was very happy and lucky to get accepted to all the schools I interviewed with. I also declined interviews for NOVA and OSU, but I felt that the University of Cincinnati was the right school for me in the end. I was very lucky and fortunate to have such a truly wonderful choice of schools from which to pick. I loved each school for its own reasons and I almost really went for LECOM-B(fantastic campus and VERY friendly people), but I chose Cincinnati because of the proximity to friends and family, in-state tuition, and how convenient the hospitals are to the school. The best of luck to all future applicants. Apply early and only to schools you really like.
