Brief Profile:
Poor showing in first two years of undergraduate science courses; GPA could never recover. However, I havea 3.4 BPCM GPA over the last 35 hours of science and 3.1 over the last 60. We'll see what happens. Something like 1,000 hours of volunteer time, too.
Spent five-plus years in the Marine Corps following high school, did a one year post-bacc (informally) and three years of graduate school (MS Genetics).

Summary of Application Experience
To sum it up, you can make your dreams a reality if you have persistence, faith in yourself, and a willingness to work hard. Also, it's essential to get your family and friends involved in the process, because there WILL be days when the light doesn't shine. You WILL contemplate giving up. Don't do it. It makes that blessed day that much sweeter.
Peace out.
--Feb 05-- Well, I did it. After three application cycles I'm in to UT San Antonio...my dream school. :D I'm withdrawing my application from all the other schools, and withdrawing my acceptance from DMU.
--Dec 8 04-- Looks like it's time for update letters to some schools. Plus, the Match is less than 2 months away!
--Nov 22 04-- Man, rejections and pre-interview holds left and right. Also a waitlist from EVMS. Bummer.
--Sep 13 04-- Email invite to EVMS. Nice.
--Aug 25 04-- Rec'd two TX interview invites so far: UTSA and TCOM. Sweet.
--Aug 12 04-- I keep receiving screened secondaries. Wow.
--Aug 10 04-- The mountain of paperwork is being reduced. Admissions staffs at Temple, U Cincy, OH State, and Pitt are very nice. I'm just hoping to get into a TX school. It would be SO much cheaper than anything else.
--Aug 9 04-- First rejection. U Louisville. Was under the impression that they took more out of state students. Apparently not. ;)
--July 20 04-- Already accepted for to DMU for Fall 2005! Weird experience but wonderful to know that no matter what, I'm going to be a physician. Meanwhile, I'm plugging away at secondaries.
