Summary of Application Experience
I applied after the August MCAT - DON'T WAIT THAT LONG! Do your AMCAS NOW! I decided to go to med school after grad school wasn't exactly what I wanted. Be prepared for a rollercoaster and hold on to why you're going through all of this anyway. Every time I was volunteering in the hospital it all came back to me that this is exactly what I wanted to do and helped me hang on through the post-secondary lull. Use your time off in a way that an admissions committee is going to be interested in. Find something to relieve your stres while you wait - I ran a marathon, there's nothing like 26 miles to get your mind off why the admissions committee hasn't called. Be proactive, call the committee, call the admission director, send an email - that got me at least one interview. I really knew I wanted a school that was stronger in clinical medicine and I love Philadelphia Good luck!
