Summary of Application Experience
Applied to both MD and DO schools, generally had an easier and nicer time with AACOMAS as opposed to AMCAS, the people were more readily accessible for application help. Applied very early to both DO and MD, and I think that really helped my chances. Accepted at DMU in October, Midwestern CCOM in January, and U of Illinois in April. Only bad thing about applying DO is the cost to hold your seat (I spent $500 for DMU and then $1,000 for MWU before deciding on Illinois, which was only $100). Interview process was great at all three places, they really let you be yourself and all of my interviewers were extremely friendly. Looking back, it's a long process that seems to go on forever and I'm glad it's over and it was all worth it.
