Summary of Application Experience
The application process sucks. I must say that I am not a typical cpplication and this caused something of a headache. But I would like to encourage people who have similar situations to give it a shot. I went to community college during high school and did not perform well. Of course, this information must be reported. After high school I did very well at the University of Washington, redeaming myself. If you are trying to compare yourself to me, keep in mind that my UW GPA was 3.65 and my BCPM GPA was 3.8. I think that many admissions committees see a community college transcript and automatically disregard the applicant, but some don't. As far as interviewing goes, practice!!! It seems that the first interview doesn't go very well for most people because it sounds so rehersed and forced, even dishonest. So, try to get all that crap out of the way on eitre a school you don't really want to go to, or mock interviews or something. Basically, if they think you are just telling them what you think they want to hear, no matter how eloquently you state it, they won't be happy about it. Anyways, read the new york times, a couple books on bioethics and healthcare policy, and The House of God by Samuel Shem. Then do you best.
