Summary of Application Experience
5/10: Going to Jefferson, unless I get on and then off the waitlist at NYU. I really couldn't be happier. :-D
12/30: so now i haven't heard one way or another about half the schools i've applied to. I sent a letter detailing my accomplishments of the past few months, to stir the pot.
12/9: Hmm, apparently that Temple email was a mistake. Haven't heard anything more, but really whole weeks go by where I forget I'm still in this whole application game, and that's fine by me. I'm probably in this admissions limbo where I'm qualified enough so most schools won't reject me outright, but I have neither the flawless numbers nor the summers spent founding clinics in South America to make me stand out as an applicant. So they'll pass me over for interviews and then will reject me at the last minute. (Haha, I loved that guy on this site saying 'go get your 4.0 from Horsecrap State University and waltz into med school' or whatever.) Oh well, like I say, life's too short to worry. Good luck, everyone. :)
12/6: I got an email last night from Temple saying they hadn't gotten my committee evaluation letter. I had called in October to ask if my application was complete and was told it was. so DOUBLE-CHECK if you haven't gotten a letter or email definitively telling you your stuff is complete.
it's such a crapshoot... you can see that even from looking at this website! Much of this process is random, so if you get rejections, just keep your chin up and chalk it up to bad luck (at least in part). I'm just really pleased to have some acceptances, and although it would be great to get more interviews/acceptances, I'm not holding my breath.
