Summary of Application Experience
So far the application process has been pretty darn hard. This is due in large part to the fact that I was very late in getting all of my materials in (my MCAT was pushed back due to illness, which pushed my entire application back significantly) and frankly, I applied to too many schools. If you take secondaries seriously (I certainly did), they're difficult to write. My application was finalized at most schools by mid-November.
I applied to many schools because I was nervous about my chances for acceptance and wanted to be sure to start THIS FALL (I'm a career changer; I'm behind as it is). I submitted 30 AMCAS apps, received 29 secondaries, returned 22 secondaries, and so far have received 6 interview offers, 2 of which I declined, 3 of which resulted in accepts, and 1 of which was a waitlist. Not a great yield, but it only takes one :-)
