12/8/07 Rejection letter (pre-secondary) from Loyola. Kinda knew this one was coming since I hadn't received a secondary app. from them yet. I knew going in that my MCAT scores weren't competitive here, but I really though the rest of my app. was strong, so it was worth a try. Would have LOVED to go to school here!
12/19/07 Had my interview at SIU earlier this week. The interview process went smoothly and I LOVED the school. The PBL cirriculum seems great and all the students are extremely happy here. Here's hoping for a AWPA letter after the Jan. 15th meeting :)
1/7/08 Came back from a weekend in Chicago to find out I got an interview at UIC! I am SO excited because I was getting nervous that this was not going to happen. Called the admissions office to schedule and they asked me to call back in the morning.....
1/8/08 Scheduled my interview at UIC for March 18th in Peoria. WOW -that seems like a long way away. I am very very excited though!
1/19/08 Got my AWPA letter today from SIU :) I am excited to get the letter since it is the next step in the process to get an acceptance there. Hopefully I will hear something after one of the next two adcom meetings (early Feb. or in March).
1/22/08 Rejection letter came today for MCW. I was kinda expecting this and am not too upset because my top choices are SIU and UIC.
3/19/08 I just had my interview for UIC in Peoria yesterday. For some reason I was really nervous for this one because it is where I really want to go. I interviewed with one MD and a third year student. Questions were really general (why medicine, what negatives about medicine, where do you see yourself in 10 years, etc.) and it was very conversational. The adcom meets on March 27th, so I am hoping to hear in the next 2 weeks!!!!
3/23/08 Happy Easter! SIU Adcom meets 3/25 so I am hoping to hear from them in the next week or so. Otherwise, it could be a long wait for an acceptance with their interesting admissions process.
4/2/08 No word from either school. I am starting to get NERVOUS!
4/3/08 I got ENGAGED today :):) SIU sent me a letter saying I was still on the AWPA after the last adcom meeting, but that couldn't put a damper on my exciting day! Here's hoping for great news from UIC one of these days. The rumor on SDN is that there isn't much room left in the class and there is a delay in the adcom decisions due to this.

5/14/08 Email from Evan Wilson congratulating my on my acceptance to SIU! I will be matriculating! I AM SO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
6/2/08 Rejection letter from UIC. No surprise to me due to my MCAT score and late interview. I am so glad I am going to SIU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
