Summary of Application Experience
Took MCAT 4/06. Had studied and was prepared, but got sick the night before. Nothing like trying to take the most important test of your life with a high fever and severe bronchitis!
Retook MCAT 8/06. Didn't study this time, did much better.
Applied to only one school in 06, and due to late MCAT score, heard crickets.
Reapplied 6/07. Made sure application was processed with first batch.
7/3/07 - interview invite for 8/10 at UTMB 7/21/07 - interview invite for 8/20 at UTHSCSA - what a birthday present!! 8/1/07 - interview invite for 8/9 at A&M
Had great interviews back-to-back at A&M and Galveston. Thankfully my husband went with me to help drive! Had a fabulous interview in San Antonio - one can only hope!!
11/15/07 - Texas A&M acceptance!!
3/12/08 - After months of waiting, hand-wringing, hopes, and prayers, got the inevitable rejection letter from San Antonio. I'll be commuting to A&M come July 28! At any rate, I've come to believe that A&M at least treats its people better than San Antonio, and I'll overall be much happier there. Temple here I come!
