Summary of Application Experience

2/22 - UNC Scholarship! Very unexpected, but a really nice surprise. I probably sounded like an idiot on the phone haha.

1/28 - UNC SOM c/o 2012! Tarheel for four more years - Best birthday present ever!!!

1/10 - DND letter #2. UNC, you're killing me.

12/21 - Sent unofficial transcripts to UNC, Wake, and GWU. I made a 3.65 this fall, which will put me on Dean's List for this semester. It raised my GPA to a 3.36 and my BCMP to a 3.31. Was also told by Wake that it would be beneficial to call/email once a month to express continued interest in staying on their waitlist.

12/13 - I guess I'm staying in North Carolina!!! My tuition just dropped from 59k to 7k. I definitely wanted to stay in NC, and I am totally happy going to ECU, but I'm definitely still holding out for UNC. But I'm a million times happier already. This has been a good day :0)

11/29 - Got the 'Do Not Despair' letter from UNC today. Looks like it's gonna be a long wait before I hear anything definitive.

11/2 - I'm gonna be a doctor!!! Got the phone call from USC this morning. I'm SO much less stressed now knowing that no matter what else happens, I'm going to be somewhere next year.

10/12 - Just had my Wake interview, and I walked away a lot more impressed with the school than I was expecting. I didn't get the hype about their state-of-the-art ventilation system until I had a conversation in the anatomy lab for 20 minutes completely unfazed. Nice.

9/30 - Back from DC, and I think my interviews went well. I really like GWU's program, but I really like Georgetown's campus. It's gonna be agony waiting 6-8 weeks to hear stuff from these schools. Hopefully, news will come in closer to the 15th.

9/24 - I think my UNC interview went really well. At least, I hope it did. I'm going to go crazy waiting to hear something.

8/21 - Decided not to complete WVU. Called Wake to check my status and invited me to interview over the phone! Also called EVMS, they said I am being interviewed, and to expected formal information soon. Yesterday, I got the 'we MAY interview you' hold message from VCU. I guess we'll see how that turns out.

8/3 - Unrejected from WVU (email). Not sure if I'm going to complete though...I'll take the weekend to think about it. The essays don't look like much fun. Or the LOR procedures...

8/1 - Finally! My last writter submitted her letter to Career Services, so my LORs will finally be sent out to schools. I can finally rest now, and just sit back and wait...which may be even more stressful. Did not think that you could get an interview without them though, especially this early.

7/23 - Rejected from WVU (mail). Reason: GPA below 3.5. Not too crushed though.

7/18 - Getting nervous waiting for that last LOR. I have 45 days to be complete at VCU and 3 weeks at Wake. She promised she would have it to me by the first, but I'd feel much better if I could send my packet out now.

7/19 - UNC has receieved my AMCAS (email)
7/12 - Wake Forest has received my AMCAS (email)
7/10 - VCU has received my AMCAS (email)
