This has been a three year process for me. I am a Georgia resident and I always LOVED Mercer. I applied ED my first year (my senior year of college at Mercer). Unfortunately my MCAT was a 24 so I was not accepted. After being released from ED I applied to about 10 other U.S. Allopathic schools nationwide and didn't receive so much as an interview. I was accepted to Ross and SGU and considered those, but quickly changed my mind.
My second cycle I again applied ED to Mercer. I had retaken the MCAT, but the new score didn't come until after ED decisions were made, so even though I increased to a 27, they only considered the 24. I was again rejected. This time, though, I only applied to Morehouse, USUHS, MCG and GA-PCOM. I was accepted to GA-PCOM and waitlisted al all the others (including Mercer). Again, I decided not to go to the D.O. school (for no other reason than I loved Mercer).
This year it finally happened. I applied ED to Mercer a third time and they called me 9/13 and gave me the happy news. My wife and I are so excited. We give God 100% of the glory.
My word of advice to those disheartened and discouraged applicants: stick with it. If it's God's will, He'll make a way. Good luck!
