Summary of Application Experience
TCOM was my first choice. I was very attracted to the osteopathic philosophy of health care and have experiences with manipulation following a sports injury. The student body seemed more approachable and friendly than other Texas medical schools. The interview experience was very professional, the school is definitely making a solid name for itself both in Texas and nationally. The definitely pushes primary care and osteopathic principles, but also offers a wide variety of research opportunities and dual degree programs. The nice thing is that many dual agree opportunities are available *AFTER* matriculation to the medical school and I'd either like to pursue a MPH degree or the specialized osteopathic manipulation fellowship.
