    Summary of Application Experience

    Nov 29
U of M cont... So they rejected me because I didn't specify what date I would be recieving my Degree from UMD, as if I wasn't going to recieve one at all! I called them about it and they wanted me to pay to resubmit my entire application to them which means I would have to set up a new account with AMCAS...ok so it would probably be cheaper for me to buy a plane ticket to fly to MSP then take a cab from the airport to the U and purchase a new pen for each individual letter that I had to put on my flippin application....1,7,M,A,Y,2,0,0,7! Get off your damn High Horse Minnesota not everyone lives in a world where money is no object! USU and UMD wrote me an email to clairify the same issue not a big deal in their eyes!

I had an amazing trip to Kirksville! I have a couple of friends there that took me out on the town (pop 17,000). Kinda reminded me of back home in Deer River and I can totally see myself going there! I'll find out on Thursday and have 30 days to make a decision....that'll be crazy! Oh and just got a phone call from Susan Christiansen today asking me to interview at UMD (bout time).

13 has always been my lucky number and pulled through again! Awarded my first acceptance to medical school by A.T. Still University in Kirksville MO....amazing feeling! Now back to my finals.

Alright...just got done with my final set of interviews. I'll start with USU, it was an amazing place the D.C. area is unreal! I think that school could be an excellent fit for me and plus I may have a roommate already leaving in the area which would significantly reduce the outrageous cost of living! UMD, was what I expected...I was honestly disappointed at the amount of effort that they put in to the presentation of the school and I still have a sour taste in my mouth for last years experience! DMU was fabulous! I never expected anything like it....though I'm not too positive on how well my interview went with them? So my timeline for hear back from school is as follows: DMU around the 25th, UMD around the 2nd of Feb, and USUHS around the end of Feb. The one thing that is apparent about this entire process is that you need to have lot of patience!

    Jan 25
I just recieved my letter from UMD which put me on the 'Highest Priority Waitlist.' Evidently, they have given out 40 or 53 acceptances and they have about 15-20 Highest Priority students that by mid april they will fill the rest of the class with....My inside source on the admissions committee told me he was pretty pleased with my ranking within the Highest Priority pool and also said I would have no problem! I'll hear back from DMU on Tuesday.

    Feb 6
I just got an Email from Des Moines Univ. which told me that I was ACCEPTED! Wow, this was great surprise; probably my worste interview of the whole process. This is currently my 2nd choice behind USUHS but I would totally be happy at DMU....oh hell yeah! I'm excited! P.S. when they say two weeks it doesn't always mean 2 weeks!
