Summary of Application Experience
Here we go! Application in to AMCAS 7/22. AMCAS took forever.... verified on 8/29.
Creighton interview was a great experience... very laid back and friendly... seems like a good school, I was very excited to get this acceptance, one of my top 5 choices.
The interviewers at UND seemed set on making me uncomfortable, the student member of the panel actually said 'I am trying to break your focus....' It was the least enjoyable interview I have had. Iowa on the other hand was very friendly and they seemed to go out of their way to make sure I was comfortable... and they had facilities that blow UND out of the water.... If I was accepted at both schools it would not be difficult deciding were to go, deciding between Crieghton and Iowa would be much more difficult. We'll have to see how Minnesota, UNC, and SLU turn out.
Interviews at Minnesota and North Carolina were very easy and VERY low stress. The students, faculty and staff all seemed to go out of there way to make me feel comfortable and welcome. I was especially impressed with the MN students and the NC faculty.... they were the highlights of each campus visit (that is saying something because the facilities were outstanding at both schools.
Received acceptances from Iowa and UND this week. I will likely withdraw from UND because Creighton and Iowa are both superior schools... Also withdrawing from SLU and MSU interviews for similar reasons and to save a little time and money.
My girlfriend was accepted to PA school at Augsburg in Minneapolis this week and I was accepted at the U of Minn. Kind of a no brainer. Minnesota is my #1 school that I have interviewed at, I already live and work in the Twin Cities.... I loved the school and people, so I will be matriculating. I'll be withdrawing from all other interviews and acceptances in the next couple of weeks.
