Summary of Application Experience
7/12/06 - AMCAS submitted! Way later than I originally planned, but at least it's done.
7/16/06 - Got my first secondary from NJMS! Good news: I have ties to New Jersey that I can write about (mother grew up there, maternal side of family is all there). BAD News: as early as I can turn this sucker in, it won't matter because my letters of rec won't come together until late August at the earliest. AUGH!
7/19/06 - I wish freaking AMCAS would verify my transcript already, so I can get more secondaries! I'm also starting to get really worried for my lack of a non-science rec, since a lot of schools seem to want it. I got away with it for NJMS, since they said I could substitute a clinical letter, but I'm not sure if other schools will be so nice to me :'(
7/24/06 - Got the secondary e-mail from Penn State today! Unfortunately for me, they too need a non-science LOR..i've already e-mailed them to ask if a clinical letter will do. Other than that, looking forward to turning this one in! The essays aren't too bad.
7/31/06 - La la la, so far it's been a big waiting game. After figuring out that i'd pointlessly applied to Wake and Wash. U., I decided to add on some more realistic schools like Temple and Tufts, which i'd somehow overlooked. Let's hope I don't regret dropping that extra $60!
8/4/06 - AMCAS VERIFIED! YAYY! (on a sunday too, who woulda thought?)
8/5/06 - So the secondaries come flooding in. Wake Forest, UCI, Stanford, Temple, Michigan State, RWJMS. Crapload of writing to do =( I've also given up on finding a non-science LOR...the one humanities prof who would've done it for me has gone AWOL, and everyone else said no. C'est la vie.
8/23/06 - It's a miracle...my LOR file is finally COMPLETE!!! Ironically, it should've been complete 2 weeks ago if my research prof. hadn't forgotten to turn my letter into the office. Lesson learned, I should've known she would be this forgetful. Oh well, better late than never! Now let's send these babies out and pray for some interviews!
2/1/07 - Yeah, I stopped updating this thing and browsing SDN for a few months because it was stressing me out...haha. But now that I have an acceptance, I guess all the pressure is off! Now to see if I can get any love from CA...not counting on it though.
