Summary of Application Experience
First time to update, doesn't look good for me this year. I think my main problem was not having enough volunteering experience. I have improved a little for this next application cycle though. I have been volunteering with habitat for humanity once a week, working full time, and also taking classes at UT Arlington. oh, and I have been running 5K's for charity but i'm not sure if that helps.
Ahh, sucks to have to go through all of this again but i'm ready to do it a couple more times if need be. If i don't get an acceptance in the early match this time, then I will be taking a MCAT course. I think I would be much more competitive with a 30+ MCAT and it shouldn't be too hard. I'll also continue to work with habitat for humanity for years to come...so maybe 200+ hours in a year. any suggestions??
UPDATE: I got pulled off the waitlist. I'm not sure if it mattered but I sent 2 update letters and called twice to check on my status. I have a feeling that it did help. If you are in the same situation as me, try not to lose hope and STAY INVOLVED! Make sure they know you are busy and that you care.
