I'm trying to apply as quickly as I can, especially to schools with rolling admissions. I'm interested in earning an MD/MBA, but I'm going to apply after matriculation so I'm applying regular MD. I'm a little upset with my MCAT, I was scoring much higher (high 30s low 40s) so I was upset with the 38. I think I was too confident on test day and it cost me.
I'm interested in comments or questions.
Update: I had some trouble with Virtual Evals so schools got a late start on my apps. It didn't seem to hurt me at my top choices, however. I've had more success with interviews than I anticipated, so this is good, but it is getting REALLY expensive, which is bad. I've been extremely impressed with every school I've interviewed at, and I'd be more than happy to attend any of them, so I guess I'm in good shape.
My advice: don't just apply to schools based on rankings. I picked schools that matched my preferences and learning style. I don't feel like I'm throwing away money interviewing all over b/c I'm equally thrilled by each school.
Update: I've been fortunate to have success with schools I really like. I'm very excited about my December interviews at Harvard and Yale, and I just finished my Duke secondary.
Looks like I've gotten about all of the interviews I'm going to get. I never thought I'd be this successful.
As of now, I'll most likely be attending Vandy next year. I suppose we'll just have to see how waitlists pan out over the next few months.
