just starting out. will submit app in august after my repeat of chem 1 is finished, unless april MCAT is amazing. also may retake MCAT in august.
i have significant DO experience, including more than 500 hours shadowing a fabulous OB-GYN (and a NYCOM grad). i was lucky enough to experience both in-office and hospital work. i also shadowed a family care DO for one day and observed/learned OMT/OMM.
communications major/bio minor. became pre-med half way through my college career, upon matriculating at ramapo college (after 3 years at u of hartford). starting a one year master's in fall 2006 at NYIT in nutrition.

finally mailed out to nycom. had some delays with a final transcript from AP classes taken in high school which slowed the process a bit. usually nycom doesnt interview until november, but invites have already gone out. makes me a bit nervous. hoping for a strong august mcat, and a 4.0 semester in graduate level courses. also need one more science LOR, which will come from a nyit professor.

august mcat wasn't great, but verbal was a surprising relief, with the CBT MCAT being a little crazy. the semester is going well, and a 4.0 is close! keep your fingers crossed for me.

merry christmas! one B+ put me at a 3.77 for my first semester in grad school, but i am still happy. hoping for a NYCOM interview in january. just working on getting official transcripts to AACOMAS, and an update letter to NYCOM ASAP. also applied to touro harlem, but we'll see about that one!
1/18
official transcripts should have arrived at NYCOM, and AACOMAS is processing. i have two new letters of rec to submit, which i will do in person to NYCOM when spring semester starts next week. i'm hoping for an interview invite SOON. i would love to be accepted at NYCOM!!!!!!

wow, long time since i've been on here. i was interviewed and waitlisted, and was prepping myself for the long haul of reapplying. i was scheduled to retake the MCAT 7/13, and was studying like crazy, when i got the call on 7/11, when i was offered a spot! so i'm off to NYCOM 8/20. moral of the story, work your ass off, and you can be accepted. be sure to work hard, and make the right connections.
