    Summary of Application Experience

I'm applying to approximately 30 schools, most of which have MCAT and GPA averages much higher than mine, so I think I'm setting myself up for a ton of rejections. But hey, I figure that with that many schools I have a higher chance of getting a lot of interviews. *crosses fingers*

Good luck to all during this year's cycle!!

8-7-2006: Update. Submitted AMCAS today, FINALLY. My PS took longer than I thought.

8-22-2006: Still waiting for Verification...Sent off 4 Secondaries so far.

    8-29-2006: Hurry up AMCAS!!

8-31-2006: Verified at 2:11 PM!! Finally!!

9-6-2006: Wading through secondaries, I got Irvine's which got me really excited!

9-17-2006: Really happy that I got UCLA's secondary, FINALLY finished U Chicago's. Wow, that one was tough! A couple more to go..

10-6-2006: I am hanging tough, so far 2 interviews and one rejection (Vanderbilt). Been complete at most schools for weeks. Realizing this is going to be a looong process.

10-9-2006; Second rejection, Boston U. I wasn't phased by Vanderbilt's rejection, but BU suprisingly hurt a little. On another note, where is UC Davis' secondary?

11-2-2006: Secondary from UCSF!!! Meanwhile, my GTown interview was a week and a half ago and I LOVED it there.

11-22-2006: I checked the Stanford status page and I see a calendar, and it says to select interview date. I thought this was a mistake so I called and they confirmed that I've been selected for an interview and I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. This is the biggest reach school on my list and an absolute dream. I'm still numb from the shock and the thought of going to stanford medical school almost makes me faint. For those with stats much below those of your dream schools, keep the faith, I hope I inspire you!

12-7-2006: Well, here we are, 2007 approaching fast, and even though I was complete at most schools in the first week of September I have not heard from the vast majority of them. Was placed in the Gtown competitive applicant pool so I will have to wait till 2007 to hear of any acceptances. I can't complain about my 4 interviews so far, from a diverse array of schools. Also, I received all the secondaries from the UC's :o). So I'm sitting here with my fingers crossed hoping something good happens in the next few months. Cheers to everyone who is waiting with me, good luck to you all.

12-15-2006: Called Wake today to check the status of my app, and what do you know, they offered me an interview. Winston-Salem here I come! Jan 22nd!

2-11-2007: I'M GOING TO BE A DOCTOR!!! Thank GOD I was finally accepted at 2 schools. I really, really did not like Temple so I will be withdrawing from there and for now, I'm headed to Saint Louis U unless I hear good news from Stanford/Georgetown/Wake.

2-20-2007: It finally happened, I got the fat letter in the mailbox from Georgetown.. I'm ACCEPTED!! I'm soo relieved to be going to a dream school. Now I will await the decision from Stanford in 2 weeks..

3-5-2007: So today I got an interview invite from UCI and I am completely shocked. This is after being on hold since September. I'm really excited though!! It came just when I was mentally preparing myself for Gtown. Looks like I will be setting myself up for a major decision in the next month or two. Choosing between Gtown and UCI though.. I PRAY to have that problem.

5-15-2007: After some deep introspection and thought, I've made my final decision: I'm headed to Georgetown and I couldn't be more stoked! The application process was one hell of a roller coaster that I never want to experience again, I'm so glad its finally over. On to better things now. Washington DC will be an amazing experience..
