Summary of Application Experience
I'm a third time applicant who has been accepted to medical school. I basically wasn't mature enough in college and got distracted with a large number of extracurricular activities. I spread myself thin and didn't take my college work seriously. I had the bad habit of overburdening myself as well (i.e. I did the entire Biochemistry major my senior year of college). I spent the past two application cycles on quite a few waitlists and had 4+ interviews each year with subsequent waitlists (never a post-interview rejection).
I did the SMP at Georgetown where I pretty much shined. I showed my true abilities and as a consequence I'm really proud that some schools were much more interested in me.
Basically, if you work hard enough and show your dedication you can overcome a poor start.
On to being a great doctor and making a difference in people's lives!!!
