Brief Profile:
I made this profile to help prospective applicants in the same way that this site helped me. I am a non-traditional applicant of mixed heritage who successfully applied and was accepted to medical school in 2017. I learned how to apply to medical school thanks to SDN, r/premed, and MDApplicants.
Best of luck to you in your application season!

Summary of Application Experience
I had a very successful cycle, which I attribute to having great scores as well as a well-rounded application. My recommendations to all applicants is guarantee your grades and scores first, and then show your genuineness and passion for medicine through activities second. Other than that, be yourself. Hundreds of thousands of people have made it to medical school, and so can you.
When picking your school, fit is the most important factor, followed by financial aid. Pick where you will be happy.
Make sure you save a lot of money for your application cycle. If you cannot get FAP, try to save money by applying locally and to schools whose stats and mission are a match with your own.
