Took August 2004 MCAT during 4th year at UCI- scores not competitive enough so.. one year off, here I come!
Took April 2005 MCAT during my 5th year at UCI (Super Senior!), taking only 8 units while preparing for MCAT. Did my med school applications after graduation.
Mid-October - Submitted Primary (Don't wait like me.. apply early!!)
Mid to late-November - Submitted Secondaries (Again, do these early too. A tip I got too late that I wish I knew: Write an autobiography about yourself while your primary is being verified. It'll help you a lot in answering your secondary application essays, and even your interviews afterwards)
Late-November - Submitted St. George's University application (Caribbean)
Mid-December - Interview notification at Meharry for late January '06! Booking ticket/hotel now..
1/22/06 - Interview notification to St. George's! I called to schedule interview, and the interviewer asked me to come in the next day
1/23/06 - St. George's interview with recent grad went well! Good warm up for interview at Meharry
1/26/06 - Interviewed at Meharry - I was a little stressed out at first, but the whole day was fun! It was a great experience.
2/12/06 - I've been checking mail everyday for word from Meharry and St. George's. This day is also the day I created this profile. Reading the profiles of others was informative (although they made me somewhat nervous), so I thought I'd provide some input of my own.
2/14/06 - Still waiting for important mail.. Any and all prayers are appreciated :) Good luck to everyone so far in the application process!
2/22/06 - Still checking mail everyday!! Checked mail today.. I got free drink coupons from Southwest Airlines - nice, but not the mail I was looking for.
2/27/06 - Found out that I was waitlisted via email by Meharry. I'll be notified after May 15th if spots open. I'll be praying a lot over the next few months!
8/15/06 - I didn't get into Meharry :/ But I'm happy in Grenada right now at St. George's!
