    Summary of Application Experience

Yeah people, so I applied to all these big name schools with heavy hopes that my MCAT score would pull through for me... no deal. So I'm holdin heavy, keepin my head up, keeping the faith in my lord and savior so we'll see what happens. Peace

    Update: 11/13/05
So I finally decided to take some advice from my peers and fellow SDN'ers and I just applied to Howard and Meharry. Don't ask me why I was waiting around... I'm still optimisitc about the other schools I haven't heard from (I know, even in the midst of the Mayo rejection), but the Bible says that 'a man of understanding shall attain unto wise counsels.' Let's just say that I'm finally taking heed of that wise counsel. On a positive note though, UT finally came through and dropped that secondary on me last week. I know it's not an interview, but knowing that they screen for seondaries, I'm glad that I made the initial cut. Aight peoples, keep me in your prayers and God Bless to everyone else going through this horrific process. I'll keep ya'll posted... peace!!!!!

    Update: 11/24/05
Yes!!!!!!!!!! Just received an interview invite from UT-memphis. God is Great!!!!! Scheduled for 12/05/05. That's what I'm talkin about people. Yeah, so I'm still holdin heavy, the game kinda quieted down for awhile, but it's back in full swing. I'll let ya'll know how things turn out at UT in a couple of weeks. Everybody keep ya heads up during this process... good news is bound to come through.

    Update: 11/26/05
Just received second blow of the season from good ol' Vandy. Not too upset about it... still got my 1st interview ahead of me and it's still early in the game (by my standards anyways). Like Bad Boy... the saga continues!!!

    Update: 12/05/05
Well, had my UT-memphis interview earlier today and it went extrememly well. I totally overprepared (got 3 hours of sleep the night before), but I wasn't taking any chances. My MCAT score, mysteriously enough, was never brought up. I'm not sure if that was a good thing or bad thing, but I'm definitely not complaining!!! Oh well people, now the waiting game continues... keep me in your prayers... I'm almost there!!!!!

    Update: 12/21/05
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm there my family. YES, you guessed it... me... and UT-memphis... together this August... in holy matrimony, hah!!! That's right, acceptance e-mail this morning letting me know that the acceptance letter should be in my mailbox sometime this week. What courtesy!!! I'll have to get all school girl giddy again when I get the actual letter. Close to, if not, the best day of my life thus far!!!!! All that hard work, long hours in the study lounge, nights dozing off with book in one hand and calculator in the other, dealing with hurtful words from the haters, doubters, and disbelievers, the MCAT, the interview, and now here it is. Praise be to that Holy One above. I know this is the beginning of something great in my life. And now I can look back, see what I overcame, and stand tall, ready for the next obstacles. To those still dealing with this insane and topsy-turvy process: keep your heads up, don't give up on your dreams. If you don't have faith, find some, trust me, it's nice to fall back on. Yep, will definitely keep God first in my life. But until this August, it's chill time. Catch me with that white coat and stethoscope in a lil bit...
    Geah!!!!!
