I applied to medical school after anticipating graduation in three years. I got a lot of negative feedback about graduating in three years and going straight into medical school, particularly that it was looked down upon. I was originally in a 7-year combined program with Lehigh and Drexel, but I decided to withdraw from it after I got my MCAT scores because I wanted to apply to other schools. Despite this, I still wanted to graduate in three years. It is likely that I may have received more interviews if I had taken some time off or actually done some in-depth research or volunteering, but I am very happy with the way things turned out, especially because I was accepted at my first choice. Basically, this process taught me that in general, extracurriculars and research are somewhat overhyped, as is taking time off. I think that if you do the things you like in college, and prove that you got the most out of your time, you will be fine when applying to medical school. Good luck to everyone else still waiting to hear and also to future applicants!
