Summary of Experience:
Harvard was awesome! I enjoyed learning about their completely flipped classroom and about the school! Boston is also awesome so it double great!
Update: Rejected, but it's ok! I'm grateful for the acceptances I got this season! It's been real!
Summary of Experience:
Submitted TMDSAS 5/25; Secondary complete 6/7. This school is awesome! The people seem very friendly, and Parkland hospital is great! Also, the bbq is exceptional.
Update: Full Tuition Scholarship! Update: Withdrew
Summary of Experience:
Submitted TMDSAS 5/25; no secondary. I don't know why, but I didn't really like the school. Maybe it was the 2+2 curriculum or the prospect of getting stuck here in a hurricane; it just didn't vibe with me.
Update: Accepted! Update: Withdrew - wouldn't attend over UTSW
Summary of Experience:
App submitted 5/25/2016; complete 6/15/2016.
The school was ok. I don't know why, but it didn't live up to my expectations. They didn't talk much about financial aid, but overall the sesons given were ok. The interviews themselves were not too bad, and the people were very friendly.
Update: Accepted! Update: Withdrew - wouldn't attend over UTSW
Summary of Experience:
Secondary complete 6/7/2016
The SOM is great! People here are super nice, and most of the interviews are very laid back! I love Lubbock's small-ish town feel! -They pay for most of the materials needed to prep for STEP 1. -They have lots of dual degree options + a 3-year family medicine track. -accepted FMAT! -full tuition scholarship + more!
Summary of Experience:
The school was pretty good, and the people pretty nice. They really tried to sell the numerous options you have with the split campuses after MS1 year. The Temple Scott & White Hopsital is huuuuggggee! Very laid back interviews.
Update: Accepted! Update: Withdrew - wouldn't attend over UTSW
Summary of Experience:
OMG!! This school is ammmmaaaaazing! I love how involved the school is in community outreach and the chance to do an MPH at Bloomberg! They said we would hear back in December (Good news I pray!) Update: Accepted!! Update: Withdrew
Summary of Experience:
Did some research here, so hoping for some love...
Update: There were so many students available to answer questions! The interviews were ok, not as bad as I expected. They said we would hear nack early November-ish.
Summary of Experience:
This school is very volunteer/EC-geared. They dont really screen when asking for the $120 secondary app fee, but they do when asking for LORs. Didnt get a LOR invite and was rejected pre-II (7/27/2016)
Update: rejection reversed and II
Update: ACCEPTED!!!
Update 2: Mayo was awesome! The students and the faculty and the staff and the people were so welcoming! My host took us out to lunch and dinner and helped me meet many medical students! It was really cold, which helped me appreciate all the tunnels and links between buildings! The school is amazing, and they have a lot to offer! The town of Rochester is really safe and affordable (and only 80 min drive from Minneapolis). A couple of things really stuck out to me about the school: 1) This is the first time a school has said they do not want finances to be an impediment to medical education, and 2) this was the first time a school has said that if another one gives a higher offer, that we should sent it to them and try for a match! I was very impressed with Mayo, and it seems to fit perfectly with the type of doctor I want to be. I only pray for the chance to train here!
Summary of Experience:
In one word: AWESOME! I love New Haven! The fall beginnings are so beautiful, and it is so much cooler than Texas! And for the school itself, I have never seen students so happy and RELAXED. From what I heard and saw, the Yale System is really geared toward self-driven success, which is right up my alley. The dorm was not so nice, but I really liked the option of apartments within 5 min walking distance. The school overall was wonderful, and my interviews were one of the most conversational I've had! I pray I get in here!
They also work to make the school very affordable (they said they have financial aid in loans and need-based scholarships). They also said they have a handful of merit scholarships, but God knows how they choose who gets those.

My favorite interview by far (as of 8/12/2016)! The people are so nice and the environment is so friendly! Their curriculum allows an insane amount of time to study for Step I. Unfortunately, they do not pay for any of the prep material, but if you take Step early, you can elect to do an early clinical rotation! The students are super diverse and like each other.
