Brief Profile:
Eagle Scout; Karate Team Captain, 2x National Collegiate Champs; Climbing Instructor and Guide (USA, Mexico, France); Graduated 2003, 2003-04 I did research full time while teaching MCAT prep (and climbing) which resulted in a publication. 04-05 did one year of biomed engineering grad, 05-06 am doing one year of medical school classes to get my graduate degree, non-thesis MS (Biomedical Science/Engineering). 100 hours volunteering UPenn Hospital pre-med program, Emergency room; Amateur a-capella vocalist, baritenor. Dean\'s fellowship for graduate program.
The biggest value of my application is that my personal statement rocks the f\'ing casbah (I write much better when I care who reads it), and I have an extremely strong motivation for medicine following a life-threatening trauma from which I have fully recovered, and after which I turned my grades and life around. My grad GPA is 3.5 so far, and I have applied almost exclusively to MD/PhD programs.
