Brief Profile:
Usual. Lots of clubs (academic & recreational), deans lists, presented some research, did a summer research program. None of this, however, got me interested in medicine. That happened through shadowing and long term service at a V.A. hospital. Service was probably my #1 activity.

Summary of Application Experience
After graduating, I took 2 years off getting experience as an EMT and phlebotomist. I also volunteered on a medical mission in Honduras for 5 months. I just didn't want to enter medical school blindly as a student (my years off have been the best of my life!). I believe my experience and solid academics got me in, despite a weak MCAT and applying very late (September/October) b/c I was busy volunteering abroad.
