Summary of Application Experience
Don't take the profiles on this website too seriously; you'll psyche yourself out. I was concerned because I have a very untraditional background, but everything worked out just fine. Most schools are interested in more than just straight-outta-undergrad research types. Pay close attention to the schools during the interviews. I was amazed by how mutual our appreciations were for each other: the schools I didn't like also didn't like me, and the schools I liked all accepted me. But that's how it should be, right? I was amazed by how different the students and faculty at different schools were--happy, discontent, relaxed, stressed, arrogant, easy-going, well-rounded, sheltered, older, younger, etc. You should pay attention to these things: you'll be spending the next 4 years with these guys!
