Summary of Application Experience
6-11-05: Sumbitted primary application. Had to wait for Transcript. 6-16-05: Verified with updated AMCAS GPA. (Higher than i calculated) 7-07-05: Georgetown and UVA both sent emails telling me where to fill out secondaries. Still waiting on some letter writers before i can submit. 7-11-05: More non screening secondaries added. 7-12-05: Too many now... please make it stop. 7-21-05: Took off all my secondary list and only putting the ones i've completed on there. 7-21-05: Decided to go ahead and submit UVA, georgetown, and hopefully USC(i give extra attention here cause i really want CA) 7-25-05: Due to my bad organization skills, i have no lost track of what i have and haven't sent in yet. Added NYMC.
8-01-05: First interview awarded... but it doesn't feel like the real thing: Vanderbilt. 8-15-05: Sick of secondaries, still have got quite some more to do, namely UCSD and Stanford.
9-02-05: Interviewing at AECOM Sept 19th!!! It'll be my first time to NYC so I'm bringing my family for a mini vacation.
9-07-05: Feeling kind of bad not receiving anymore interviews. But it's only the first inning.
9-16-05: No sign of any other secondaries. I've sent in everything i wanted and i'm feeling very relieved. SDN ROCKS. If it wasn't for the constant neurotic posts by other sdners, i couldn't have finished it. You guys were my motivation because i didn't want to fall behind the rest of you.
9-19-05: First interview at AECOM. BAH!!!
9-20-05: I come home from my trip to NY and I find a thin rejection letter from Georgetown. How delightful.
10-04-05: Interview at Pitt was GREAT. I think I did great!! First acceptance will be notified around mid october. My faculty interviewer told me to expect their decision by mid november. http://www.studentdoctor.net/interview/show_entry.asp?ID=12179
10-21-05: Just when i thought life was crap and i became one the many forgotten people, some higher being throws me a huge juicy bone with this UCSD invite. I was so bored on the laptop then i saw a Gmail notifier pop up. Said 'invitation.' at that point i didn't care from where. Then i saw UCSD. My heart pounded so fast.
01-11-06: Oh i'm so tired of all this. Just got back from U of Wisc and Case Western. Well atleast I got the chance to visit chicago and see my friend.
01-25-06: Life sucks, 4 waitlists 0 acceptances. Time to really look at what I should be doing next year... reapply? find alternative? Live life as a day trader?(i just started playing stocks, it's exhilarating)
03-13-06: Wow i finally cared enough to update my profile. I've been pretty depressed with all these waitlists. On sunday, my GMAIl and ebay accts were both hacked and i was locked out. It was HELL!!!!! But then the day after, i get accepted to Univ of Wisconsin!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Right now I am very stress free but I am still hoping for love from UCSD. It's seriously my top choice! Oh yea, i've been recieving waves of rejection letters from all sorts of schools and for the remaining schools that haven't contacted me about an interview, i'm treating htem as rejections.
Univ of Wisconsin will ROCK. I love the 'houses' like in harry potter. And the Health science building is magnificient although the hospital needs a freakin MAP. I'll dedicate my year 1 to creating a comprehensive map of that maze.
05-16-2006 Case Western Reserves University called and offered me a spot. We'll see how the financial aid package compare before I make my decision.
For berkeley folks: if you've graduated, reactivate your account w/ career center so that you wont get charged too much for the requests. $5 vs $20. saves you alot if u'r sending to more than 6 schools.
