Summary of Application Experience
august MCATer. take the april MCAT unless you are absolutely sure you can do much better on the august exam. the application process is a long and sometimes unfair process. keep your cool, be honest in your interviews, and maintain your points of view. rough interviews do not necessarily equate to rejections, and superb interviews can result in waitlists. keep things in perspective and have patience. stick to your activities and devote some time to then; don't spread yourself too thin. and lastly - the admissions game is ultimately more or less a huge crap shoot. it will be unfair at times, whether that works for or against you. i applied to roughly 30 schools, completed ~20 secondaries, and ended up interviewing at ~10 schools. in retrospect, i should have applied to fewer schools initially and followed through with more secondaries. and lastly, keep a sense of humor, because nothing whatsoever about this admissions process is funny.
