Majored in both a Social Science and Biology in college. I applied to 15 MSTP programs last year, waitlisted at two programs. I didn't have any clinical experience last year, and my major problem was applying too early.
Stats: MCAT is between 36 and 40, GPA is between 3.5 and 3.69.
Research: I have 3 years research experience in small microbiology lab at good Midwestern state school. One 2nd author paper, one international conference. I will be continuing to work in a new microbio lab during this upcoming year.
Non clinical extracurriculars: Forensics, 4 years in college Bio club, 1 year in college Political stuff, 3 years in first half of college Scattered odds and ends (acting, that sort of thing)
Clinical experience: Hospital volunteer, 1 year Shadowing, 50 hours
LORs: It's impossible to know for sure, but I think my letters are strong. I was told last year that two of my letters were very strong, and this year I'm adding in a letter from my volunteering experience.

Summary of Application Experience
I'm trying to get into a MD/PhD program in the same area as my SO (who's applying MD), so this could get tricky! I'm applying to as many schools as I can to increase the chances of this happening.
About 1/3rd huge reach, 1/3rd reasonable, and 1/3rd where my numbers are higher than average. Last year I was waitlisted at a huge reach school, so who knows what can happen?
