Summary of Experience:
Interesting school... I enjoyed interview day. Very much exuded a strong mentorship-vibe. The day was unbelievably cold (like below -15/20 without windchill) however everyone was lovely. I felt like we didn't meet a lot of students--Hanover is also a very very small town, and I liked it and also felt a little isolated (but perhaps that is a part of its allure.) Also, the food at the hospital was by far the best of all the places I interviewed. Roasted butternut squash, roasted brussell sprouts, A+ salad bar, other roasted veggies, and vegan pastries all included made my day. Nice students but didn't really meet that many. Away rotations seemed to excite students i spoke with in the upper classes but, perhaps, less exciting from an outsider perspective. Honestly, it's a great school, and it would be a blessing.
Summary of Experience:
Brown's Alpert is a small school with a big heart. My one qualm with the interview day is that I felt a bit too singled out and put on the spot at times--it wasn't relaxing and felt more stressful than any other I attended. I wish they began with the interviews and end with the other stuff--it would make it a bit easier. By the end of the day, I felt exhausted and running on fumes. I left feeling as though the school just wasn't a good fit for me.
Summary of Experience:
Loved this admissions day--it was a fabulous experience and really was just the right blend of active and down-to-earth. I loved that the MMI & interviews happened first thing, then we were able to chill out when meeting with students. There were about 30 interviewees there that day, and it is a magic number. The size of interviewees made it so easy to engage and chill out (e.g. self-regulate) throughout the day as I wanted. MMIs were fun and (surprisingly) a stress-relief! I left feeling like I 'get' UMMS and that they understand who I am. Wonderful day--would LOVE to go here.
Summary of Experience:
Unbelievable--I'm humbled to have UCSF as an option. It's such a wonderful school and the interview day was low key and down to earth. Amazing curriculum re-designs going on for the upcoming class, and probably the best clinical and research environment of any school out there. Amazing! OOS.
