Summary of Application Experience
I hope my page really helps out other students who are in the same situation as I was when I applied. I was extremely worried about my low MCAT score (28). I thought I would be doomed to having to attend a DO school (nothing wrong with that, but not right for me!). However, I decided to take my chances and apply with the 28 and not retake the MCAT just to see what would happen. I had a 4.00 GPA and plenty of research and community service and medical exposures, so the only real thing possibly holding me back was my MCAT score. Thankfully, everything turned out better than I could have ever possibly imagined! I went on two interviews to schools I never imagined I would attend and ended up leaving very impressed. Word of advice: don't put all your eggs in one basket. You may say that you've always seen yourself attending "So and So University" and then go on an interview to a different school and completely fall in love with and realize that is where you were meant to be! I am soooo happy with the results of my application season! I am so fortunate to have received multiple acceptances and gotten to choose where I would attend, even though it ended up being a much more difficult decision than I could have ever imagined! I truly fell in love with two schools, but I am so excited to be starting at UA Phoenix this summer! Please message me with any questions you have regarding your application season, and I would love to help answer!

Summary of Experience:
No love from my birth state! This was my first rejection and a super sad one, too! Really hoped to move back near family. Oh well...
Summary of Experience:
Actually kind of relieved to be rejected here. Wish I had saved the money and not even applied because I have heard a lot of bad things about this school. Would not have attended!
Summary of Experience:
I was informed that my application was set aside for review at a later date.... I was really banking on applying early with my lower MCAT, so this doesn't sound good to me.
Ended up as a rejection... wasn't too disappointed. Not much that was attracting me to the DC area.
Summary of Experience:
This was a total stretch. Decided to go out on a limb and apply somewhere new and different than my usual go-to, but no success!
Summary of Experience:
This was another reach school for me. Would have been AWESOME to attend... I love Chicago and this school has a great reputation.
Summary of Experience:
Was really excited to apply here and loved the idea of this city, but I was less than impressed by the communication with the faculty at this school. They were very slow to respond to my questions and I just didn't feel "wanted" here.
Summary of Experience:
Surprised by this one... definitely thought I'd get an invite. Oh well. Really wanted to return back to the Chicago area to be near family, but I'm glad I was accepted to a school more in a city-setting. I think that will be a better fit for me.
Summary of Experience:
This would have been an awesome school to attend! The reputation is great and I would have enjoyed returning back to Wisconsin after so many years!
Summary of Experience:
Applied here as a safe school considering they have lower MCAT requirements, but glad things turned out well for me and I didn't have to attend such a brand new school in a town I'm not too excited about.
Summary of Experience:
I received an email on 8/12 saying that UA could not extend an interview offer to me at this time, but that my application is still under consideration. I am not feeling too well about my chances now.
Was rejected :( Normally, I would be totally upset considering this was one of my top picks, but sooo happy with the interviews I was offered, so you win some and lose some...
Summary of Experience:
I also have family here in Minnesota and was excited at the prospect of possibly moving here for school, but no luck. Would have been great!
Summary of Experience:
Woohoo! Another interview invite after a dry spell. Really thankful for an interview at such a great school, but I will most likely not waste the money to fly there when I have already been accepted to Creighton :/
Summary of Experience:
WITHDREW - I absolutely fell in LOVE with Oakland! I was a little worried about it being a new school, but I just felt like I really belonged there during my interview. I felt like I fit in with the other students, and the other interviewees were some of the nicest people I had ever met and could really see myself being lifelong friends with. The campus was beautiful and I felt so relaxed there. I was very impressed with the hospitals and the whole feeling of the school. In the end, I had to choose the school that offered me the best financial deal, and it was completely heartbreaking having to decline my acceptance at Oakland. Loved this school and would recommend everyone to apply here!
First interview invite!! Beyond excited! Interview was terrific! I really fell in love with this school and it's program! It blew me away!
ACCEPTED via phone call!!! I absolutely fell IN LOVE with this school!! SO utterly excited, but not looking forward to this huge decision that awaits me!!!!
Summary of Experience:
WITHDREW - I really liked my time in Creighton. I was actually impressed by Omaha, so for all you new applicants thinking "I can't see myself in Omaha," just apply! I bet you would be surprised! It was very green and had a nice "Mid-West" feeling. The people were nice and the faculty as Creighton were super friendly and funny! They really made me feel like they were trying to win me over and not the other way around. However, I simply didn't "feel" like I belonged there. I don't know how to explain it. As lovely as it was to be there during my interview, I left feeling like it just wasn't the right place for me. I don't think I would have been happy as a Jay.
Second interview invite! Such a relief after 2 weeks of hearing nothing. I'm really excited about their branch campus in Phoenix. Interview was good. Faculty is extremely friendly, and this school has terrific match results. Excited to see where this one goes.
ACCEPTED!!!!! Incredible feeling. I cannot believe I am actually going to be a doctor in 5 short years!! Hard work (and a lot of money) has finally paid off!
Summary of Experience:
ACCEPTED!!! Best Thanksgiving gift ever!!!! WILL BE MATRICULATING - CLASS OF 2019!!!! Loved this school and always pictured myself being here. Can't wait for what's in store for me these next four years!
10/6: Such an amazing interview day!! There were so many students around who wanted to help and give us as much info as possible. MMI made me nervous, but really turned out to be just fine and actually a little fun! I didn't feel stressed at all during the process. Paradise Bakery lunch was delicious, and then we toured the sim center and library. The entire faculty was so nice! I cannot wait to hear back from this school!
