Attended community college after high school, doing horribly. Multiple Fs, withdrawals, repeats, etc. Was there off and on from 2002 to 2007, when I graduated with two A.S. degrees and a 2.1ish GPA (with a repeat grade replacement policy at that school.) in 2014, came back to community college and did an academic renewal program, where, after a break of 5 years, and after earning at least a 3.5 in a semester, all F and D grades are removed from cumulative GPA calculation. Applied and was accepted to a four-year university, where I completed two years (~100 credits) with a 3.98 GPA and a B.S. in Biology.
Worked as a tech in an ER for 4 years, scribe for a year, a paramedic and paramedic instructor for 7 years. Volunteered as EMT for a year, worked in free clinic off and on for 4 years, went on a week-long medical mission trip to the Dominican Republic, have been volunteer tutor and mentor for the past year. Ran my own (non-medical) business for 5 years.
Applied incredibly broadly knowing that my chances werent going to increase if I had to re-apply. >90 MD schools and >20 DO schools. Got all my secondaries out of the way within two months. Received two interview invites, both of which turned into acceptances.

Undergraduate college: George Mason University
Undergraduate Area of study: Biological/Life Sciences
Summary of Experience:
Liked this school after going for an open house, and was in-state for me.
Submitted all materials on the first possible day. Received an interview invite on November 5th for later that month.
Got an email from the admissions committee wanting to see my final fall grades before making a decision, and luckily my fall grades were all As. One day after I submitted the grades, I received notification that I was accepted.
