Brief Profile:
Minor in Fine Arts (actually came up a lot during interviews). 4.0 in two semesters of a Post-bacc at a top-tier program. Completed all pre-reqs in undergrad though.
I applied to way too many schools because I submitted my AMCAS before I got my MCAT scores back, and built my list largely based on my grades. I was very surprised and ecstatic about the outcome of the MCAT, and have been absolutely thrilled and honored by all the interview invites and acceptances I've received. I was expecting absolutely nothing from this cycle.
Research: Two years of bench research working on two separate projects. HHMI funding for the first one. One year of public health research post-grad. Worked in a top-tier medical school's research lab doing bench research while I applied this cycle as well. I mentioned this on almost every secondary application I turned in, so schools presumably knew about it.
Community Service/Clinical: One year of full-time post-grad work with the Hispanic/Latino community in a clinical/advocacy role. This experience included extensive physician shadowing as well. 4 months living abroad in a foreign country doing medical work.
Other: President/EIC of science journal, president of biological society, other various community service/leadership opportunities, etc.
