REAPPLICANT FROM 2012-2013 CYCLE 2012 weaknesses: 1. Slow, uphill MCAT battle: April 2011 MCAT = 25 (9/8/8), August 2011 MCAT = 28 (11/6/11); Sept 2013 MCAT = 32 (11/10/11) 2. Only applied to 6 schools; applied to 18 this cycle, including DO 3. Research experience but no publication; as of Jan 2014, I have two publications, both first-author 4. Pretty weak personal statement due to lack of writing experience; completely rewrote, multiple editors this cycle
Goals for the application cycle: 1. Be near Chicago - wife is certified teacher in IL, would allow her quickest transition to a decent paying job 2. Cheaper the better 3. Waitlists are dreadful. I am avoiding these at all costs! (unless its my only option, come late Spring)

3/19/2014: My cycle is officially over, since I've heard back from all of the locations where I interviewed. I didn't get any consideration from my home state, Illinois, which was the most difficult part to accept from the cycle since there are, what, 9 schools?! However, I'm pretty proud of receiving acceptances from every school where I interviewed. I will be matriculating at IUSM for the Class of 2018!!
