Brief Profile:
Two years out of college, full time research. In total, spent 5 years in the same lab. Studied abroad, completed a non-science minor. Immigrant to America as of 10-15 years ago.
3 peer-reviewed publications in major journals in my field (1 first author), 8+ conference presentations/posters/abstracts.
Lots of teaching/mentoring experiences. Was the equivalent of TA at home institution for a year, ran/organized/taught the lab for a seminar course at a nearby college for 4 semesters, mentored many undergraduate students in the lab as the senior student/project leader/later lab manger.
Relatively weak/average clinical/volunteering. One physician parent, about 40 shadowing (3 specialties, not parent) hours total. One semester of hospital volunteering (hated it), one international trip, one significant slightly clinical volunteering commitment for about 2.5 years throughout college.
AMCAS verified 8/12, LOR uploaded 8/19, complete at most schools by the end of August/first few days of September.
