Application Cycle One: 06/11/2013
Undergraduate college: Top 30
Undergraduate Area of study: Biological/Life Sciences
Summary of Experience:
Surprised about this outcome. Interviewed here last year and was waitlisted. Spoke to the Dean of admissions about things that impacted my waitlist decision; he basically told me to expect to be interviewed again as I was only 3-4 spots away from being accepted last year. Didn't happen, though!
Nonetheless, very happy with the way the cycle has gone and am incredibly thankful.
Ended up withdrawing on 11/6 because I still have two other interviews to attend (which I am really excited about) at this point in the season and am already in love with Creighton and Tufts. Hoping this opens an interview spot for someone else who really wants to go there/hasn't been accepted anywhere else yet.
Summary of Experience:
Wow. Another interview out of the great blue yonder. It's funny, cause I was saying to a family member how I was just waiting on my last two rejections...and then this came at the end of March. It again proves how random this process can be!
3/31 Update - Withdrew because I am already having a hard time deciding where to go, as I love the current options I have. Nothing really drew me to NYMC that the other schools I've been accepted to don't have, so I figured it's better to let someone else have the spot.
Summary of Experience:
Random interview invite almost 6 months after being complete. Truly unexpected and shows how unpredictable this process can be.
Update 1/9/2014 - Decided to withdraw to give the spot to someone else. Hopefully it will go to someone who hasn't been accepted anywhere else yet! At this point, I have many great options and it's also getting very expensive to travel, so I think this decision is for the best.
Summary of Experience:
Rejected 2/8/14, six months after being interviewed. Somewhat frustrated that I was strung along this long (nearly six months; interviewed there their first week of interviews)...but what can you do? Lucky that I have lots of other great options at this point!
Summary of Experience:
Ah well. Loved UNC, but unfortunately they chose not to accept me; might have something to do with the fact I am a recent transplant to NC.
Nonetheless, very happy to be in the position I am in - never imagined I'd have so many options at the start of this cycle!
