Summary of Application Experience
Took a later MCAT and applied a little later than I would have liked to, but I'm very happy with how things have turned out thus far. It's a long process, but apply early and stay optimistic!
Summary of Experience:
I had never been to the Bronx before, but I actually found the residential area surrounding Einstein to be rather charming. It's close to Manhattan, but far enough away to be a bit quieter and less busy, which I think I would like. The interview day itself was a little underwhelming, just because they didn't have any presentations at all, but the students I met with were all enthusiastic about the school. I've heard they are generous with financial aid as well, which would definitely be a factor for me.
Summary of Experience:
Excellent school in a beautiful location that is very close to home. I thought this was my best interview, but resulted in a waitlist. This whole process is really hard to figure out. If I am ultimately accepted it would be very difficult to turn down the in-state tuition attached to this amazing school.
Summary of Experience:
I liked this school and city a lot more than I imagined I would. Rochester is beautiful, but does get very cold. It's also pretty isolated from the rest of the world; having said that, the city itself offers a lot and has a very cheap cost of living. The school itself was beautiful and the students seemed very happy. Mandatory lecture would be a bit annoying for me, but besides that the curriculum seems pretty awesome.
Summary of Experience:
I think this is the perfect example of a school/area that you either love or hate. For some, the idea of living a quiet life in truly beautiful Hanover is perfect, while others would probably lose their minds. I'm not exactly sure where I stand on this, which means I probably lean more towards the latter. Outside of the location, Dartmouth seems like a great program with excellent opportunities available to its students. They also have very very generous financial aid.
Summary of Experience:
First secondary submitted, first interview invite, first interview attended and first acceptance!! Loved everything about the school, from the P/F pre-clinical curriculum to LAC+USC Hospital. Top choice at this point, despite the scary price tag.
Summary of Experience:
I had an awesome interview day here. The students seemed very relaxed, unlike many east coasters I've encountered thus far. Among my current acceptances (USC, Sinai and Hofstra as of writing this) this is right there with USC and it would ultimately come down to LA vs. NYC.
Summary of Experience:
Very interesting curriculum and the students seemed pretty happy. I'd be a little worried to attend a school that hasn't proven itself yet in terms of board scores and resident matching, but I'm sure their students will be very well prepared.
